Foreign investors buy Rs2.51bn worth of securities via SCRA

March 22, 2024 (MLN): The net purchase of securities for the week ended March 15, 2024 clocked in at Rs4.16bn, as compared to a net purchase worth Rs2.53bn recorded last week, according to a weekly report on Specially Convertible Rupee Accounts (SCRA) released by the State Bank of Pakistan.

To note, foreign investors have remained net buyers for the third consecutive week.

During the week, the gross sale of securities was recorded at Rs3.96bn, which is around 62.49% lower than the figures recorded last week.

Similarly, the total purchase of securities stood at Rs8.13bn, which is 37.95% lower than the prior week, resulting in a net purchase of Rs4.16bn for the week.

Over the week, the overall purchase of securities decreased by Rs4.97bn while the net sale of securities decreased by Rs6.6bn.

Apart from this, the inflow of remittance into these accounts stood at Rs4.27bn, while its outflow has been reported at Rs374.77m.

The closing balance of SCRA was recorded at Rs24.06bn, which marks a decline of Rs85.53m over the week.
