Foreign borrowing by Government increases by 40% during July-May 18

Pakistan government took 40 percent more loan during July to May period compared to previous year.

According to data released by the economic affairs division, loans from external sources during July 2017 to May 2018 amounted to $10.448 billion compared to $7.747 billion during July 2016 May 2017.

Pakistan took $1.646 billion from China during the period under review, during last fiscal year same period loans from China amounts to $1.327 billion.

Loans from commercial banks show a rise of 25% to $3.494 billion. In May 2018 Pakistan took fresh commercial loan of $750 million.
