Fertilizer offtake improves substantially by 66% in December

January 23, 2020 (MLN): The overall nutrient offtake during December 2019 was about 797 thousand tonnes, which represented a significant increase of 65.9 percent.

During the period under review, Nitrogen offtake increased considerably by 79.8 percent while phosphate offtake increased by 13 percent. Potash offtake increased by 10.1 percent over December, 2018.

Total fertilizer nutrient offtake during Rabi 2019-20 (Oct-Dec) was about 1,541 thousand tonnes, which increased by 2.5 percent compared with same timeframe of last Rabi.

Total fertilizer production during December 2019 was about 618 thousand product tonnes. Of this urea production was 511, DAP 72, CAN 14, Nitrophos 16, NPKs 3, SSP 0.9 and SOP 1 thousand tonne. Imported supplies during December 2019 were comprised of 55 thousand tonnes of DAP.
