Federal cabinet approves PM's package for Rabi crops

November 18, 2020: The cabinet has approved Prime Minister's Package for Rabi Crops, especially wheat. According to the package, 1000 rupees per 50 kilograms bag will be given as a subsidy on fertilizers.

The Federal and Provincial governments will share the subsidy in a 70 and 30 percent ratio.

On weedicides and fungicides, per acre subsidy will be given at the rate of 250 rupees and 150 rupees respectively by the Federal Government.

The provinces will distribute the subsidy in their already prevalent manner but will be responsible for ensuring transparency.

The cabinet also approved granting legal powers to district and session judges in 19 districts of the country to check smuggling.

It granted approval to the procedure for the appointment of chief executives in all government departments and companies. 

The Prime Minister, on the occasion, directed to ensure a transparent and merit-based procedure for these appointments.

The cabinet was informed that there was no shortage of wheat and sugar in the country and there would be no increase in their prices.

The Prime Minister told the cabinet members that a mechanism has been formulated to resolve problems of National Assembly members being faced in their respective constituencies.

He said action will be taken against the district administration and officers of the departments concerned for failing in the timely redressal of a complaint.
