Exchange rate movement will help in correcting market imbalances: State Bank

May 16, 2019 (MLN): The State Bank of Pakistan issued a small statement justifying the depreciation of PKR against the Dollar by 3.62 percent in the market today.

The exchange rate in the Interbank market closed at PKR 146.52 compared to the previous day’s close of PKR 141.40, showing a depreciation of Rs.5.12 per USD.

According to the statement “this movement reflects demand and supply conditions in the foreign exchange market and will help in correcting market imbalances”.
