EGV to manufacture electric vehicles for Pakistan: Minister

October 27, 2020: Minister for Science and Technology Fawad Chaudhary says the adoption of technology is imperative to meet modern-day challenges and for the development of the country.

He was talking to media in Islamabad on Monday during a signing ceremony of a memorandum of understanding between the Ministry of Science and an international consortium EGV regarding electric busses.

Under the agreement, EGV will manufacture electric buses for Pakistan.

Fawad Chaudhary said, in the first phase electric buses will ply on roads in Karachi, Lahore, and Islamabad.

He said in the next two to three years, the entire motorway network will shift to an electric vehicle charging facility.
