ECC to discuss incentives for exchange companies

December 31, 2021 (MLN): The Economic Coordination Committee (ECC) of the Cabinet, in its meeting which is scheduled to be held today at 1030hrs, will discuss the Incentives for exchange companies against surrender of foreign exchange in the interbank market. The meeting will be chaired by Shaukat Tarin, Minister for Finance and Revenue.

Besides, the other important agendas for this meeting comprised of the following points:

  • Approval of Technical Supplementary Grant (TSG) amounting to Rs14.621 million within sanctioned budget for the purchase of spare parts for helicopter maintenance by HQs Pakistan Rangers (Sindh) during CFY 2021-22
  • Request for release of funds through TSG to Project Implementation Letter of HQ FC, (South) KP, D.I.Khan Funded by INL-P
  • TSG of Rs 751.486 million in favour of M/o Energy, Power Division out of demand No.115 Development Expenditure of Planning Development & Special Initiatives for FY 2021-22
  • Financial challenges of Roosevelt Hotel, New York USA- request for re-rolling of principal amount of US$ 142 million along with mark-up for further 02 Years.
  • Revision of customer pricing and markup subsidy period under Tier-1 of government markup subsidy scheme and inclusion of Housing Finance Companies (HFCs) in G-MSS for housing finance
  • Finalization of business plan by NHA by June 2022
  • Sambrial Kharian Motorway Project (SKMP)
  • Allocation of budget to the newly established secretariat of the Council of Common Interests (CCI).
  • Gas rate for operations of Fatima Fertilizer (Sheikhpura Plant) and Agritech
  • Government's Sovereign Guarantee for NECOP Project
  • Provision of life-saving drugs worth Rs 500 million to Afghan people
  • Request for provision of funds for the purchase of equipment in Pakistan Institute of Medical Science
  • Issuance of sovereign guarantee and letter of comfort in favor of lender banks for new financing agreement with respect to Pipeline Infrastructure Development Project LNG-II
  • 1.2 MGD Reverse Osmosis Desalination (ROD) Plant at Gwadar (Chinese Grant)
  • Relaxation to PNSC's 19 subsidiary companies from the applicability of the public sector companies (Corporate Governance Rules), 2013
