ECC to discuss anti-smuggling measures under FBR transformation plan

November 12, 2024 (MLN): The Economic Coordination Committee (ECC) of the Cabinet will meet today at 14:00 hours to discuss the anti-smuggling measures under the Federal Board of Revenue (FBR) transformation plan.

During this meeting, the committee will also discuss and likely approve the request for technical supplementary grant (TSG) amounting to Rs16.995 billin for clearing of liabilities of companies/agency partners of PPoD.

Additionally, the committee will review a request for demand of funds worth Rs1.32bn as TSG in connection with local government (Bye-Elections) in Sindh, Khyber Pakhtunkhwa & Balochistan and local government election in Islamabad (ICT) & Punjab Province during FY 2024-25

Furthermore, the committee will discuss enhancing FBR's operational expertise and organizational capacities, performance management regime for FBR Officers, as well as the capacity building program for FBR officers: funds requirements.

The Minister for Finance and Revenue, Muhammad Aurangzeb, will chair the meeting.
