ECC approves Rs 33 billion worth of subsidy for Naya Pakistan Housing Scheme

July 22, 2020 (MLN): The Economic Coordination Committee (ECC) in its meeting held on Wednesday under the Chairmanship of Abdul Hafeez Shaikh, has approved subsidy worth Rs 33 billion for Naya Pakistan Housing Scheme, of which Rs 4.77 billion will be spent this year.

The subsidy will be provided on the construction of small houses of 3 to 10 Marlas.

The ECC has also approved Rs 15.7 billion worth of subsidy on fertilizer for Agriculture sector.

The ECC also gave approval for Supply of 1.5 million metric tonnes of wheat on payment to Pakistan Army this year from PASCO.

According to the sources, the meeting also gave approval of new system for National Command Operations Center and government departments.

The ECC, in the light of the recommendations from the Price and Grade Revision Committee has allowed to set the minimum price of Tobacco for the year 2020, as per which Tobacco prices are set between Rs 101 and Rs 233, the sources said.

The sources also revealed that consideration is being given to the assistance of the Federal government for the development of mineral in Balochistan.
