ECC approves import of 1.5 million tons of fertilizer from China

January 6, 2022 (MLN): The Economic Coordination Committee (ECC) has approved the import of 1.5 million tons of fertilizer from China and the first shipment of 50,000 tons will arrive on the 10th of next month, Minister for Information and Broadcasting Chaudhry Fawad Hussain said today.

In a tweet on Thursday, he said that six hundred thousand tons of local fertilizer will also start to come into the market from this month.

Despite the high prices of fertilizers in the international market, our farmers will not face any shortage, he added.
