September 09, 2026 (MLN): easypaisa digital bank and KTrade have joined hands in a first-of-its-kind partnership to make stock market investments more accessible and convenient for millions of Pakistanis, by enabling instant digital Pakistan Stock Exchange (PSX) account onboarding via the easypaisa app.
The partnership was formally unveiled during a ceremony held
in Islamabad last week, attended by senior representatives from the Securities
and Exchange Commission of Pakistan (SECP), including Commissioner Muzaffar
Mirza; Naveed Qazi, CEO, National Clearing Company of Pakistan Limited (NCCPL);
Badiuddin Akber, CEO, Central Depository Company (CDC), and senior officials
from easypaisa, and KTrade.
Through this collaboration, easypaisa users can open a
KTrade PSX investment account within 10 minutes through a fully digital and
seamless onboarding process, removing traditional barriers and paperwork that
have long limited public participation in Pakistan's capital markets.
This initiative advances financial inclusion by making
investment opportunities more accessible for every Pakistani.
The partnership's impact was immediate and unprecedented,
with easypaisa and KTrade recording the highest single-day investment account
onboarding volume in PSX history, setting a new benchmark for digital wealth
creation in Pakistan.
Speaking on the occasion, Jahanzeb Khan, President &
CEO, easypaisa digital bank, said:"At easypaisa, our mission is to unlock
access to financial opportunities for every Pakistani. Through our partnership
with KTrade, we are extending this vision beyond payments and banking into
investments, enabling users to participate in Pakistan's capital markets
through a simple, secure, and fully digital experience. This partnership marks
another important step towards building a more financially empowered and
inclusive Pakistan. I would also like to thank the SECP, NCCPL, and CDC for
their continued support in digitizing the onboarding of brokerage accounts,
laying the foundation for millions more Pakistanis to participate in the formal
investment landscape and helping drive the next phase of growth in Pakistan's
capital markets.”
Mahmood Ali Shah Bukhari, CEO, KTrade, commented, "The
future of investing lies in accessibility and convenience. Through our
collaboration with easypaisa, we are bringing the stock market closer to
millions of Pakistanis and making wealth creation opportunities available at
their fingertips. Together, we are helping cultivate a stronger investment
culture in the country."
Representatives from NCCPL highlighted the significance of
digital innovation in expanding investor participation and strengthening
Pakistan's financial ecosystem. Meanwhile, CDC was acknowledged for its
supportive role in enabling the infrastructure and collaboration required to
bring the initiative to life.
The partnership aligns with broader national efforts to
increase retail participation in capital markets, encourage the adoption of
digital financial services, and create new avenues for wealth creation among
underserved segments of society.
With instant account onboarding, seamless user journeys, and
secure market access, easypaisa and KTrade are paving the way for a new
generation of digital investors, helping more Pakistanis take their first step
towards long-term financial growth.
With over 60 million registered users and as the country's
first digital bank to commence commercial operations, easypaisa remains aligned
with the State Bank of Pakistan's vision of driving inclusive economic growth
and continues to expand its range of financial products and services, catering
not only to its existing users but also to millions who remain unbanked or
underbanked.
