Domestic cement dispatches fall 6% in April 2025

May 05, 2025 (MLN): The total cement dispatches stood at 3.34 million tons for April 2025, according to data released by the All Pakistan Cement Manufacturers Association (APCMA), reflecting a 6% decline compared to 3.57m tons in March 2025.

However, on a year-on-year (YoY) basis, cement dispatches showed a 13% increase from 2.95m tons recorded in April 2024.

Export dispatches, on the other hand, increased by 36% month-on-month (MoM), rising from 609,000 tons in March 2025 to 826,000 tons in April 2025, and recorded a 35% increase compared to 614,000 tons in April 2024.

Total cement dispatches during April 2025 stood at 3.34m tons, representing a 6% MoM decline from 3.57m tons in March 2025 but a 13% year-on-year (YoY) increase from 2.95m tons in April 2024.

In North Pakistan, cement dispatches in April 2025 totaled 2.24m tons, reflecting a 9% month-on-month (MoM) decline from 2.45mn tons in March 2025.

However, YoY dispatches grew by 7% from 2.09m tons in April 2024.

Local dispatches in the North stood at 2.12m tons, down 13% MoM, but showing a 9% YoY growth.

Exports from the North increased 518% MoM to 114,000 tons but registered a 22% YoY decrease compared to April 2024.

In South Pakistan, total cement dispatches for April 2025 were 1.1m tons, reflecting a 2% MoM decline from 1.12m tons in March 2025.

However, YoY dispatches surged by 28% from 863,000 tons in April 2024.

Local dispatches in the South stood at 391,000 tons, marking a 26% decrease in MoM and 1% in YoY.

Exports from the South rose 21% MoM to 712,000 tons, YoY figures rose 52% from April 2024.

During the first ten months of the fiscal year 2025 (10MFY25), total cement dispatches amounted to 37.34m tons, reflecting a 0.3% decline compared to 37.45m tons in 10MFY24.

Local dispatches stood at 29.98m tons, down 6% YoY from 31.74m tons in 10MFY24.

Export dispatches surged by 29% YoY, rising to 7.35m tons from 5.71m tons in the same period last year.

North-based mills dispatched 26.15m tons during 10MFY25, down 4% YoY, while South-based mills saw an 5% YoY decrease, dispatching 11.18m tons.
