Current Account deficit in the first 3 months of FY '18 reaches $ 3.55 billion

According to latest State Bank of Pakistan release, the total Current Account deficit during the first three months of fiscal year ’18 amounts to $ 3.55 billion.

The current deficit has now reached around 4.2 percent of the total GDP. Current Account deficit during the same period last year (July – Sept ’17) was $ 1.637 billion, an increase of 114% when comapre against the same period last year.

The deficit in September alone was around $ 956 million.
