Current Account balance for Jul – Oct reaches -5 billion

According to latest State Bank data, Current Account balance for Jul – Oct FY '18 reaches -5 billion up from -2.25 billion during the same period last year.

The SBP data revealed for the July – October period revealed a -11.399 billion deficit between exports and imports. Total Exports for the Goods and Services during the period clocked in at 9.319 billion, however, the imports for goods and services reached 20.718 billion, almost double the amount of exports.

The deficit continues to widen during the last few years.
