October 16, 2020 (MNL): Trading at the Pakistan Stock Exchange remained rather subdued as opposition parties were set to hold their first rally.

The Benchmark KSE100 index ended the trading session on Friday with a 95.52 point or 0.24 percent gain to close at 40,164.02.

The Index traded in a range of 474.33 points or 1.18 percent of previous close, showing an intraday high of 40,217.92 and a low of 39,743.59.

Of the 89 traded companies in the KSE100 Index 46 closed up 40 closed down, while 3 remained unchanged. Total volume traded for the index was 155.50 million shares.

Sectors propping up the index were Commercial Banks with 130 points, Textile Composite with 12 points, Vanaspati & Allied Industries with 11 points, Insurance with 6 points and Paper & Board with 3 points.

The most points added to the index was by HBL which contributed 100 points followed by MEBL with 26 points, UNITY with 11 points, FFBL with 11 points and DGKC with 10 points.

Sector wise, the index was let down by Oil & Gas Exploration Companies with 25 points, Food & Personal Care Products with 21 points, Automobile Assembler with 7 points, Inv. Banks / Inv. Cos. / Securities Cos. with 6 points and Power Generation & Distribution with 6 points.

The most points taken off the index was by PPL which stripped the index of 17 points followed by LUCK with 16 points, ENGRO with 13 points, FCEPL with 10 points and FFC with 10 points.

All Share Volume decreased by 70.59 Million to 254.20 Million Shares. Market Cap increased by Rs.0.53 Billion.

Total companies traded were 391 compared to 434 from the previous session. Of the scrips traded 225 closed up, 143 closed down while 23 remained unchanged.

Total trades decreased by 25,443 to 89,560.

Value Traded decreased by 3.29 Billion to Rs.7.73 Billion
