July 17, 2020 (MLN): Domestic equities ended the last trading session of the week on a positive note. The KSE-100 Index closed at 37,330.85, recording an increase of 329 points i.e 0.89% higher than previous close.

According to the closing note by Ismail Iqbal Securities, Pakistan equities continued its positive sentiment on Friday in absence of any major triggers.

The Index remained positive throughout the session touching an intraday high of 37,354.01

Of the 96 traded companies in the KSE100 Index 60 closed up 33 closed down, while 3 remained unchanged. Total volume traded for the index was 302.94 million shares.

Sectors propping up the index were Inv. Banks / Inv. Cos. / Securities Cos. with 60 points, Fertilizer with 52 points, Power Generation & Distribution with 40 points, Chemical with 35 points and Automobile Parts & Accessories with 26 points.

The most points added to the index was by DAWH which contributed 58 points followed by ENGRO with 48 points, HUBC with 42 points, THALL with 20 points and PAKT with 15 points.

Sector wise, the index was let down by Oil & Gas Exploration Companies with 4 points, Commercial Banks with 3 points, Miscellaneous with 2 points, Sugar & Allied Industries with 2 points and Glass & Ceramics with 1 points.

The most points taken off the index was by HBL which stripped the index of 14 points followed by EFUG with 8 points, PPL with 6 points, EFERT with 6 points and OGDC with 5 points.

All Share Volume increased by 63.47 Million to 466.06 Million Shares. Market Cap increased by Rs.73.94 Billion.

Total companies traded were 386 compared to 385 from the previous session. Of the scrips traded 265 closed up, 104 closed down while 17 remained unchanged.

Total trades increased by 11,725 to 155,508.

Value Traded decreased by 0.23 Billion to Rs.15.84 Billion
