Chinese Consortium to ink share purchase agreement with DSE today

A Chinese consortium comprising of Shenzhen Stock Exchange and Shanghai Stock Exchange will enter in a share purchase agreement with Dhaka Stock Exchange (DSE) today, making the Chinese Consortium a strategic partner of DSE.

Wang Jinjuan, President and Chief Executive Officer of Shenzhen Stock Exchange and Pan Xuexian, Supervisory Chair at Shanghai Stock Exchange will sign the agreements for Chinese Exchanges with Mr. K. A. M. Majedur Rehamn, Managing Director DSE in Dhaka.

After entering in the share purchase agreement, Chinese consortium will control a more than 25 per cent or above 450.94 million shares in DSE. According to the regulatory approval, Chinese consortium will purchase the DSE's shares at a price of Takka 21 each.

Apart from these individuals, Bangladesh Securities and Exchange Commission (BSEC) Chairman Professor M Khairul Hossain, DSE Chairman Professor Abul Hashem and other senior managers at Securities Regulator and the bourse will be present at the signing ceremony.
