Cement prices in North surge 3% with Peshawar leading the way

According to data released from the Pakistan Bureau of Statistics, average cement prices in the North zone have registered a close to 3% increase on a week on week basis, jumping from an average price of Rs 557 during the week ending July 5, 2018, to Rs 574 this week.

The largest jump in cement prices this week occurred in Peshawar, as prices rose by 4.9% while the lowest jump in prices took place in Lahore, of about 2.4%.

Prices in the South region witnessed no increase this week.

Cumulatively, average retail prices for cement per 50/kg over the entire country rose by 1.95% from an average price of Rs. 563 last week to Rs. 574 this week.
