CCI meets today to discuss unauthorized deduction by FBR, performance criteria for IMF’s EFF

December 23, 2019 (MLN): The approval of inclusion of new summaries is included in today’s meeting of Council of Common Interests. Prime Minister Imran Khan will chair the 41st meeting, to be held in the Cabinet Room in his office.

 The Chief Ministers of provinces and other participants also attend the meeting to show concerns regarding unauthorized deduction by FBR and review the Attorney General for Pakistan’s recommendations concerning the Water Accord.

During the meeting, the approval for the privatization of 1230 MW Haveli Bahadur Shah and 1223MW Balloki power plants owned by NPPMCL will be reviewed. Moreover, the amendment in Petroleum (Exploration & Production) Policy 2012 will be discussed.

More notably, the matter regarding the alarming High population growth rate in the country will also be taken into consideration.

The Recovery through Tariff of Markup on Bilateral Islamic/Commercial Loans obtained by WAPDA for payment of Net Hydel Profit (NHP) to the Governments of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa and Punjab will be appraised. Besides, draft recruitment regulations for the post of Chairman and Members WAPDA will be presented at the meeting.

The agenda also includes the structural benchmark and performance criteria for the IMF’s Extended Fund Facility (EFF) for Pakistan and amendment in OGRA Ordinance 2002.
