Car sales rise by around 25% in Feb

March 11, 2025 (MLN): The sales of cars, including LCVs, vans, and jeeps, in Pakistan, increased by 24.5% in February 2025, clocking in at 12,084 units compared to 9,709 units recorded in the same month of last year, the latest data from the Pakistan Automotive Manufacturers Association (PAMA) showed today.

Conversely, on a month-on-month basis, auto sales have decreased by 29.0% compared to the 17,010 cars sold in January 2025.

Cumulatively, in 8MFY25, sales clocked in at 89,666 units, around 50.2% higher compared to 59,699 units sold in 8MFY24.

The total production of cars was recorded at 12,867 units in February, up 34.0% YoY compared to 9,605 units made in the same month of last year.

On a sequential basis, the production has decreased by 17.3% MoM compared to the 15,561 units produced in January 2025.

The data released by PAMA further showed that the maximum number of passenger car sales was made within the ‘1300cc and Above’ category at 4,700 units in February 2025.

Within this category, Honda Cars (Civic & City) recorded the highest sales at 1,876 units, followed by Toyota (Corolla & Yaris) with sales of 1,820 units, Suzuki Swift with 651 units, and Hyundai Elantra with 205 units.

The second highest number of sales was made within the ‘Below 1000cc’ category at 3,680 units during the review month.

Suzuki Alto led sales with 3,561 units in this category, with the Suzuki Bolan following with 9 units.

Moreover, the '1000 cc' segment witnessed a sale of 489 units in February 2025.

In this category, Suzuki Cultus recorded the highest sales at 282 units, followed by Suzuki WagonR with sales of 207 units.
