January 14, 2025 (MLN): The sales of cars, including LCVs, vans, and jeeps, in Pakistan, increased by 68.1% in December 2024, clocking in at 9,779 units compared to 5,816 units recorded in the same month of last year, the latest data from the Pakistan Automotive Manufacturers Association (PAMA) showed today.

Conversely, on a month-on-month basis, auto sales have decreased by 3.2% compared to the 10,100 cars sold in November 2024.

Cumulatively, in 6MFY25, sales clocked in at 60,572 units, around 53.5% higher compared to 39,454 units sold in 6MFY24.

The data released by PAMA further showed that the maximum number of passenger car sales was made within the ‘Below 1000cc’ category at 4,345 units in December 2024.

Within this category, Suzuki Alto recorded the highest sales at 4,115 units, followed by Suzuki Bolan with sales of 117 units.

The second highest number of sales was made within the ‘1300cc and Above’ category at 2,977 units during the review month.

Toyota (Corolla & Yaris) led sales with 1,156 units in this category, followed by Honda Cars (Civic & City) with sales of 970 units, Suzuki Swift with 668 units, and Hyundai Elantra with 145 units.

Moreover, the '1000 cc' segment witnessed a sale of 542 units in December 2024.

In this category, Suzuki Cultus recorded the highest sales at 322 units, followed by Suzuki WagonR with sales of 220 units.
