Automobile sales surge 112% in Oct

Car sales rise 56% in November 2024

November 11, 2024 (MLN): The sales of cars, including LCVs, vans, and jeeps, in Pakistan increased by 112.1% in October 2024, clocking in at 13,108 units compared to 6,180 units recorded in the same month of last year, the latest data from the Pakistan Automotive Manufacturers Association (PAMA) showed today.

Similarly, on a month-on-month basis, auto sales have increased by 27.3% compared to the 10,297 cars sold in September 2024.

Cumulatively, in 4MFY25, sales clocked in at 40,693 units, around 49.8% higher compared to 27,163 units sold in 4MFY24.

Breaking up the data, during the review month, passenger car sales increased by 117.7% YoY to 10,557 units compared to 4,850 units recorded in the same month of last year

The total production of passenger cars was recorded at 9,227 units in November, up 138.5% YoY compared to 3,868 units made in the same month of last year.

The data released by PAMA further showed that the maximum number of passenger car sales was made within the ‘Below 1000cc’ category at 5,991 units in October 2024.

Within this category, Suzuki Alto recorded the highest sales at 4,685 units, followed by Suzuki Bolan with sales of 1,044 units, and Suzuki Every with with sales of 262 units.

The second highest number of sales was made within the ‘1300cc and Above’ category at 3,997 units during the review month.

Toyota (Corolla & Yaris) led sales with 2,101 units in this category, followed by Honda Cars (Civic & City) with sales of 1,418 units, Suzuki Swift with 330 units, and Hyundai Elantra with 105 units.

Moreover, the '1000 cc' segment witnessed a sale of 569 units in October 2024.

In this category, Suzuki Cultus recorded the highest sales at 343 units, followed by Suzuki WagonR with sales of 226 units.
