April 16, 2025 (MLN): Attock Refinery Limited (PSX: ATRL) has addressed the shutdown of one of its crude distillation units with a capacity of 5,000 barrels per day, as reported in The News newspaper dated April 11, 2025.

The shutdown occurred due to high stocks of Diesel and Petrol, stemming from lower upliftment by Oil Marketing Companies (OMCs), the company's filing on PSX revealed today.

The Company clarified that the matter had been communicated to the Oil and Gas Regulatory Authority (OGRA) and the office of the Director General (Oil), enabling them to take timely mitigating actions to prevent the closure of other larger units.

It was further stated that the specific unit in question contributes marginally to the refinery's overall throughput.

Therefore, its temporary shutdown does not significantly impact refinery operations, as ATRL maintains adequate stock levels.
