Asset Declaration Scheme displays commendable progress

July 3, 2019 (MLN): A commendable progress has been observed in the performance of asset declaration scheme, as over 130,000 people have registered under it so far, sources revealed on Wednesday.

Out of this total, around 91000 people have disclosed their undisclosed assets whereas the remaining 40000 will also declare their assets.

Asset declaration scheme is one of the most crucial steps taken by government to fix fiscal anomalies, as it is expected to raise tax worth Rs. 50 billion.

Under this scheme, assets worth Rs. 1800 billion have been declared so far.

It is pertinent to mention that today marks the last day for declaring assets under this scheme. Moreover, no transaction will be taken after banking hours, sources added.
