May 02, 2025 (MLN): Pakistan's inflation slowed to 0.3% in April 2025, compared to 0.7% in the previous month and 17.3% in April 2024, the latest data issued by the Pakistan Bureau of Statistics (PBS) showed.
On a sequential basis, inflation deceased by 0.8% compared to the previous month's increase of 0.9%.
Accordingly, the average yearly inflation for 10MFY25 is 4.73% compared to 25.97% in the same period last year.
Urban CPI inflation decreased to 0.5% YoY in April 2025, down from 1.2% in the previous month and significantly lower than 19.4% in April 2024.
On a MoM basis, it saw down of 0.7% compared to an increase 0.8% decline last month and a 0.1% down in April 2024.
Rural CPI inflation, on the other hand, decreased by 0.1% YoY in April 2025, as compared to no change measured in the previous month and 14.5% in April 2024
MoM, it fell by 1%, reversing the previous month’s 1.1% rise, and compared to a 0.9% decrease in April 2024.
SPI inflation decreased to -3.2% YoY in April 2025, compared to -2.3% a month earlier and 21.6% in April 2024. On a MoM basis, it dropped by 1.7% in April 2025, compared to a 0.1% decrease last month and a 0.7% fell in April 2024.
WPI inflation decreased by 2.2% YoY in April 2025, compared to a 1.6% decline the previous month and a 13.9% increase in April 2024.
On a MoM basis, it fell by 1.3% in April 2025, reversing the 0.3% up in the prior month and a 0.7% decrease in April 2024.
