Abid Sattar takes over the reigns of Askari Bank as new President and Chief Executive

Mr. Abid Sattar has assumed the office of President and Chief Executive of Askari Bank Limited since Thursday August 9, 2018, taking over the reigns from Mr. Syed M. Husaini who has been the president of the bank since June 2013.

Mr. Sattar brings with him over 35 years of experience in the banking industry that involves both Pakistani and overseas assignments. Prior to joining Askari, he was based in Singapore heading the International Business for Asia and Africa Regions for Habib Bank Limited.

He has also held leadership positions at HBL Pakistan including Global head of operations and head of retail and consumer banking.

Prior to HBL, he held senior level positions with Citibank, Standard Chartered and Chase Manhattan Bank.

Mr. Sattar holds a Masters from Cambridge University, UK and is a gold medalist in MBA Finance from the Punjab University, Lahore.
