World Bank mission reviews SRMP progress in Sindh

June 10, 2026 (MLN):  The World Bank is on a Pakistan visit, where its mission toured project sites across Sindh's Talhar, Matli, Badin and Tando Muhammad Khan districts to assess implementation and community impact under the Sindh Rural Management Programme (SRMP), with field findings confirming all activities had been implemented as planned.

The mission, facilitated by the Sindh Rural Support Organisation (SRSO), aimed to review on-ground progress, interact with beneficiaries, and evaluate key activities under SRMP, which is being implemented by SRSO across Hyderabad, Tando Muhammad Khan and Badin districts.

The World Bank delegation included Senior Social Development Specialist Imran ul Haque, Social Development Specialist Faiz Aijaz, Social Development Consultant Hafeez Bozdar and Muhammad Basit, APP reported.

They were accompanied by SIDA General Manager Asghar Mahesar and SRSO officials including the Hyderabad region's CED manager, district manager Badin and assistant manager Regional Office Hyderabad.

During the visit, the mission held meetings with community members and inspected newly constructed and upgraded houses across several villages.

Members also interacted with vocational training participants to assess how acquired skills had improved incomes, and met beneficiaries of solar panel installations.

The delegation also visited a garment centre in Matli to review skill development activities and market linkage mechanisms.

The World Bank mission acknowledged SRSO's facilitation and noted positive community feedback on the programme's impact.
