September 08, 2025 (MLN): Pakistan received workers’ remittances worth $3.1 billion in August 2025, the State Bank of Pakistan (SBP) said in a statement on Monday.

The inflows marked a 6.6% increase on a year-on-year basis, though they recorded a 2.38% decline compared to July 2025.

Cumulatively, during the first two months of FY26 (July–August), remittances amounted to $6.4bn, reflecting a 7% growth against $5.9bn received in the same period last year.

The inflows in August 2025 were largely contributed by Saudi Arabia ($736.7mn), United Arab Emirates ($642.9mn), United Kingdom ($463.4mn), and the United States ($267.3mn), the SBP noted.

In March 2025, workers’ remittances crossed $4.05bn.This surge was attributed to Eid festivities, increased use of formal banking channels, and rising economic activity in the Gulf region, from where the majority of Pakistan’s remittances originate.
