April 10, 2026 (MLN):  The government reiterated its commitment to reducing inflation, assuring that the upcoming federal budget will provide relief to the public without placing any additional financial burden on citizens.

In an exclusive conversation with a local media outlet, Rana Ihsan Afzal Khan, Coordinator to the Prime Minister, said the government has adopted prudent austerity measures to tackle ongoing economic challenges, while noting that such difficulties are being faced globally, not just by Pakistan, APP reported.

He said the government is fully aware of the hardships faced by the people and is pursuing a clear strategy to stabilize the economy.

He assured that no new burden would be imposed on the public in the upcoming budget or in the coming months, adding that efforts are underway to gradually improve economic conditions and provide relief to the common man.

Responding to a query, he emphasized the need to boost exports and strengthen the National Finance Commission (NFC) framework, stressing that cooperation among political parties and provinces is essential for sustainable economic progress.

He also termed the ongoing US-Iran negotiations a positive development, expressing hope that continued dialogue would contribute to regional stability and economic confidence.

He appreciated Pakistan’s constructive role in facilitating the talks, noting that the leadership has consistently supported dialogue, restraint, and peaceful resolution of conflicts as part of a responsible diplomatic approach.
