MG News | September 24, 2026 at 03:05 PM GMT+05:00
September 24, 2026 (MLN): Treet Battery Limited (PSX: TBL) recorded a 5% increase in its net profit for the year ended June 30, 2026, with profit after income tax rising to Rs42.27m from Rs40.43m in the corresponding period last year.
Showing this broadly stable bottom-line, the company's basic
and diluted earnings per share (EPS) eased to Rs0.04 from Rs0.05 in FY25.
The top-line came under pressure, with net revenue from
contracts with customers declining 22% year-on-year to Rs6.86bn from Rs8.84bn
in the prior year.
Cost of sales fell at a slightly faster pace of 23% to
Rs5.45bn, allowing gross profit to contract at a more moderate 20% to Rs1.41bn
from Rs1.77bn showing some marginal improvement in cost management relative to
the revenue decline.
On the expenditure side, administration and general expenses
rose 17% to Rs100.87m, while selling and distribution expenses declined 2% to
Rs699.34m.
Other operating expenses more than doubled to Rs33.09m from
Rs15.45m. The operating expenditure subtotal edged up just 2% to Rs833.29m, but
the gross profit contraction still pulled profit from operations down 39% to
Rs577.72m from Rs947.39m.
Other operating income declined 34% to Rs88.51m from
Rs133.98m, adding further pressure.
The standout positive development of the year was a sharp
43% decline in finance cost to Rs526.71m from Rs920.59m a saving of nearly
Rs394m that significantly cushioned the earnings line and limited the overall
damage to profit before income tax and levy, which came in at Rs139.52m
compared to Rs160.77m in the prior year.
Levy declined 19% to Rs97.25m from Rs120.35m, providing
additional relief and bringing profit before income tax up 5% to Rs42.27m from
Rs40.43m. No taxation was recorded in either period, leaving profit after
income tax at Rs42.27m for the full year.
