September 07, 2026 (MLN): Thal Limited (PSX: THALL) reported a 40% surge in its consolidated net profit for the fiscal year ended June 30, 2026, reaching Rs11.34bn compared to Rs8.10bn in the preceding year.

Alongside the financial results, the board recommended a final cash dividend of Rs15 per share.

Reflecting this solid bottom-line growth, basic and diluted earnings per share (EPS) attributable to the equity holders of the Holding Company improved to Rs129.04, up from Rs89.54 in FY25.

The primary drivers behind the performance were top-line revenue expansion, robust contributions from associates and joint ventures, and reduced finance charges.

Net revenue from contracts with customers grew by 22% year-on-year to Rs44.26bn, up from Rs36.41bn in FY25.

Although the cost of sales increased by 22% to Rs37.71bn, strong sales performance allowed gross profit to expand 16% to Rs6.55bn compared to Rs5.63bn in the prior year.

On the operational front, overheads expanded to support business growth.

Distribution and selling expenses rose 31% to Rs1.16bn, while administrative expenses grew 34% to Rs2.02bn.

These were partially offset by a 35% decline in other charges (Rs254.31m) and a 6% boost in "other income" (Rs3.06bn), pushing operating profit up by 8% to Rs6.18bn.

Below the operating line, THALL benefited from significant interest cost relief alongside strong associate earnings.

Finance costs fell by 29% to Rs592.49m (down from Rs832.86m in FY25).

Furthermore, the share of profit after tax from associates and joint ventures surged 41% to Rs10.18bn (up from Rs7.20bn), driving profit before taxation up 30% to Rs15.64bn (after accounting for a statutory levy of Rs125.20m).

The company absorbed an 11% higher corporate taxation charge of Rs4.30bn for the year (up from Rs3.89bn in FY25).

Supported by 22% top-line revenue growth, a 41% surge in associate profits, and a 29% cut in borrowing costs, Thal Limited securely closed the fiscal year with its consolidated net profit reaching Rs11.34bn.
