Supreme Court partners with SBP, 1LINK to digitize court fee payments

June 19, 2026 (MLN): Pakistan's Supreme Court has partnered with the State Bank of Pakistan and 1LINK (Guarantee) Limited to introduce digital payment solutions for court fees.

A move to replace the manual legal fee stamp system with electronic channels aimed at streamlining access to judicial services.

The tripartite agreement was signed at the Supreme Court in the presence of the Registrar, senior court officials, and representatives of the SBP Banking Services Corporation and 1LINK, APP reported.

Under the new framework, litigants and legal practitioners will be able to pay court fees through approved digital channels, reducing processing times, easing administrative burdens, and cutting reliance on paper-based procedures.

Officials said the system is expected to improve transparency, accountability, and accessibility for court users.

The initiative forms part of the Supreme Court's broader reform agenda centred on citizen-centric service delivery and digital governance.

Participants at the signing ceremony emphasized  the role of technology in modernising judicial administration, with the court reaffirming its commitment to innovation-driven reforms aimed at strengthening public confidence in the justice system.
