Sindh govt's Roshan Ghar scheme reaches 2,615 households

August 10, 2026 (MLN): Sindh Government's Solar Home System (SHS) initiative, "Roshan Ghar – Roshan Sindh," has provided solar kits to 2,615 eligible families across 13 districts of the province.

The kits are being distributed under the Solar Home System Project of the Energy Department, Government of Sindh, which is being implemented by SRSO, the Sindh Rural Support Organisation (SRSO) Spokesperson said, APP reported.

The project aims to provide reliable, affordable and sustainable solar energy solutions to 275,000 households across 30 districts of Sindh through a transparent selection process.

The spokesperson said the eligibility of beneficiary families was verified through a transparent scrutiny process as per criteria set by the Sindh Government, with the kits provided completely free of cost.

SRSO clarified that no fee or charge is taken at any level for survey, verification, distribution, and installation of the solar home system kits.
