Sindh govt courts Chinese investment in infrastructure, PPP

July 24, 2026 (MLN): Sindh government has invited China's Shandong High-Speed Group Company Limited to explore investment opportunities in the province's infrastructure and public-private partnership (PPP) projects, with Chief Minister Syed Murad Ali Shah reaffirming the provincial government's commitment to facilitating foreign investors.

He said investment avenues existed in roads, flyovers, water treatment facilities, desalination plants, transport infrastructure and urban development, adding that the Sindh government stood ready to extend all possible support to foreign investors, according to APP.

The invitation was extended during a meeting at the Chief Minister House with a delegation led by Shandong High-Speed Group Chairman Zhu Xiang, which also included Director Wang Zhenrong, while the Tabani Group was represented by Chairman Hamza Tabani, Executive Director Hatim Tabani, Directors Abdul Wasi Tabani and Arham Tabani, and General Manager Majid Naseer.

The meeting was also attended by the Chief Minister's Special Assistant for Investment and PPP Qasim Naveed, Principal Secretary Agha Wasif, and CMIT Chairman Bilal Memon.

The delegation was briefed on ongoing infrastructure, transport and urban development projects across Sindh.

Representatives of Shandong High-Speed Group expressed keen interest in taking part in the province's development agenda, with both the Chinese company and the Tabani Group conveying their intent to work with the Sindh government on joint projects.

The chief minister described Pakistan-China friendship as a shining example of mutual trust and shared prosperity, adding that greater foreign investment would generate employment opportunities and contribute to economic growth in Sindh.

Both sides agreed to further explore avenues of cooperation in infrastructure and public welfare projects, with the Chinese delegation appreciating Sindh's investor-friendly policies and affirming its commitment to deepening future collaboration.
