October 04, 2025 (MLN): Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif will travel to Malaysia from Oct. 5-7 at the invitation of his counterpart Anwar Ibrahim, Pakistan’s Foreign Office said in a statement.

A high-level delegation, including Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister Ishaq Dar, cabinet ministers, and senior officials, will accompany Sharif, as APP reported.

Talks with Malaysian leadership are expected to focus on boosting trade and investment, particularly in information technology, telecommunications, the halal industry, energy, infrastructure, education, and the digital economy.

The two sides will also exchange views on regional and global developments.

The visit is likely to see the signing of agreements and memoranda of understanding aimed at expanding cooperation across existing and new sectors, according to the Foreign Office.

Malaysia is a key economic partner for Pakistan in Southeast Asia. Sharif’s trip emphasizes Islamabad’s push to deepen commercial ties and attract investment as the country seeks to stabilize its economy and diversify external partnerships.
