Saudia Group, PIA explore new aviation cooperation opportunities

August 10, 2026 (MLN): Saudia Group Director General Engr. Ibrahim AlOmar met with a delegation from Pakistan International Airlines (PIA) to explore opportunities for cooperation and discuss developments across the aviation sector and strategic projects supporting Saudi Arabia’s position as a global aviation and logistics hub.

The meeting was held in coordination with the Saudi-Pakistani Joint Business Council, chaired by Prince Mansour bin Mohammed Al Saud.

The PIA delegation also toured several Saudia Group subsidiaries to gain insight into the Group’s integrated maintenance and training capabilities, led by Saudi talent.

These capabilities play a key role in developing national expertise, strengthening the competitiveness of Saudi Arabia’s aviation industry and advancing the objectives of Saudi Vision 2030.

Meanwhile, Saudia has been recognized as the world’s top-performing airline for on-time arrivals in July 2026, according to the latest monthly report by global aviation analytics firm Cirium.

The Saudi flag carrier achieved an on-time arrival rate of 87.24% across 16,406 flights during the month, securing the highest ranking among airlines worldwide.

The performance came during the busy summer travel period, when airlines faced increased passenger demand and greater operational challenges.

Saudia attributed the result to coordinated efforts across its Group, cooperation with aviation partners and airport authorities, and the use of advanced digital technologies and artificial intelligence to enhance operational planning, decision-making and daily flight operations.
