SPWL turns to loss in first half of 2025

August 28, 2025 (MLN): Saif Power Limited (PSX: SPWL) posted a loss of Rs95.75 million for the six months ended June 30, 2025, compared to a profit of Rs518.8m in the same period last year.
The company’s earnings per share (EPS) fell to a negative
Rs0.25 from Rs1.34 in the prior year.
Net turnover increased 30.53% to Rs4.77 billion, while the
cost of sales more than doubled to Rs4.45bn, leading to a sharp decline in
gross profit to Rs317.22m from Rs1.45bn previously.
Other income surged 1,819% to Rs112.96m, partly offsetting
higher expenses.
Administrative expenses rose 13.94% to Rs166.54m, and
operating profit dropped 79.91% to Rs263.65m.
Finance costs fell 54.69% to Rs359.4m, but the company still
recorded a net loss before tax of Rs95.75m for the period.
