September 14, 2026 (MLN): Shifa International Hospitals Limited (PSX: SHFA) recorded an 11% increase in its consolidated net profit for the year ended June 30, 2026, with profit for the year climbing to Rs2.47bn from Rs2.23bn in the corresponding period last year.

Showing this steady bottom-line growth, the company's basic and diluted earnings per share (EPS) expanded to Rs39.85 from Rs35.72 in FY25.

The Board of Directors has declared a final cash dividend of Rs5.00 per share (50%) for the year ended June 30, 2026.

The top-line showed healthy momentum, with net revenue growing 12% year-on-year to Rs31.32bn from Rs27.97bn in the prior year.

Other income grew 28% to Rs491.58m from Rs383.20m, providing an additional positive contribution.

Operating costs rose 13% to Rs26.87bn from Rs23.81bn, rising slightly faster than revenue and exerting mild pressure on margins. Finance costs increased 18% to Rs407.10m from Rs345.72m.

Expected credit losses doubled to Rs282.15m from Rs141.02m, adding a further drag. Share of associate swung to a marginal loss of Rs654,000 from a profit of Rs16.11m in the prior year.

These combined movements brought profit before levies and income tax up 5% to Rs4.25bn from Rs4.07bn. Levies surged to Rs36.88m from Rs7.72m nearly fivefold pulling profit before income tax up 4% to Rs4.21bn from Rs4.06bn.

The development that amplified the modest pre-tax growth into a stronger bottom-line outcome was a lower income tax burden.

Income tax expense declined 5% to Rs1.74bn from Rs1.83bn a proportionally larger reduction than the pre-tax growth providing the cushion that delivered the 11% increase in profit for the year.
