SECP registers record 5,438 new companies in July

August 06, 2026 (MLN): The Securities and Exchange Commission of Pakistan (SECP) registered a record 5,438 new companies in July, marking the highest monthly registrations.

The SECP said five foreign companies also established offices in Pakistan, while companies from Malaysia, the United Arab Emirates (UAE), and China entered the country to conduct business. It added that 112 newly registered companies included foreign directors.

Of the total registrations, 3,148 were private limited companies, 2,117 were single-member companies, 127 were limited liability partnerships (LLPs), 28 were non-profit organizations, and 18 were public companies.

Punjab accounted for the highest share of registrations at 51%, with 2,756 companies. Islamabad recorded 1,053 new companies, followed by Sindh with 864, Khyber Pakhtunkhwa with 450, Gilgit-Baltistan with 180, and Balochistan with 135.

The Information Technology (IT) sector recorded the highest number of new company registrations with 1,008 companies.

Other major sectors included trading with 845 companies, services with 638, construction with 348, food and beverages with 256, tourism with 207, e-commerce with 181, education with 165, real estate development with 162, and corporate agriculture with 145.
