SECP registers 4,761 new companies in August

September 03, 2026 (MLN): The Securities and Exchange Commission of Pakistan (SECP) registered 4,761 new companies in August 2026, taking the total number of registered companies in the country to 311,765.

According to the SECP, 99.9% of company registrations during August were completed online, while three foreign companies entered Pakistan.

During the month, 2,762 private companies and 1,846 single-member companies were registered.

The IT sector remained the leading sector with 872 new companies, followed by trading with 732, services with 601, construction with 295, and tourism with 232 new companies.

Punjab recorded the highest number of new registrations at 2,547, followed by Islamabad with 843, Sindh with 702, and Khyber Pakhtunkhwa with 407. Meanwhile, 151 companies were registered in Gilgit-Baltistan and 111 in Balochistan.

The SECP said 134 foreign investors invested in newly registered companies during August, including 106 Chinese investors.

The SECP Chairman said the increase in company registrations was a result of business confidence and digital transformation.
