SECP registers 4,761 new companies in August

September 03, 2026 (MLN): The Securities and Exchange Commission of Pakistan (SECP) registered 4,761 new companies during August 2026, taking the total number of registered companies in Pakistan to 311,765.

The SECP said 99.9% of registrations during the month were completed online through integrated federal and provincial systems, supported by the eZfile portal.

Private companies accounted for the largest share of new incorporations, with 2,762 companies (58.01%), followed by 1,846 Single Member Companies (38.78%). The SECP also registered 113 Limited Liability Partnerships (2.37%), 28 Not-for-Profit companies (0.59%), and 12 other companies (0.25%), including public companies, foreign companies and TOs.

Punjab recorded the highest number of new registrations at 2,547 (53%), followed by Islamabad Capital Territory with 843 (18%), Sindh with 702 (15%), Khyber Pakhtunkhwa with 407 (9%), Gilgit-Baltistan with 151 (3%), and Balochistan with 111 (2%).

The Information Technology sector led registrations with 872 new companies, followed by Trading with 732, Services with 601, Construction with 295, Tourism with 232, Food and Beverages with 216, E-Commerce with 152, Real Estate Development with 143, Education with 129, and Mining and Quarrying with 103. A further 1,286 companies were registered across other sectors.

During August, 134 foreign investors from several countries participated in newly incorporated companies, including 106 investors from China.

SECP Chairman Dr. Kabir Ahmed Sidhu said the continuous surge in corporate registrations reflects the growing trust of entrepreneurs and investors in Pakistan's transparent and business-friendly regulatory framework, supported by digital transformation initiatives.
