SECP expands digital data-sharing network under PRMI

August 22, 2025 (MLN): The Securities and Exchange Commission of Pakistan (SECP) has expanded its digital integration network under the Pakistan Regulatory Modernization Initiative (PRMI), signing Memorandums of Understanding (MoUs) with several federal and provincial regulators.

The agreements, concluded in collaboration with the Board of Investment (BOI), bring the National Electric Power Regulatory Authority (NEPRA), Punjab Revenue Authority (PRA), Drug Regulatory Authority of Pakistan (DRAP), Sui Northern Gas Pipelines Limited (SNGPL), Pakistan Electronic Media Regulatory Authority (PEMRA) and Islamabad Electric Supply Company (IESCO) onto SECP’s eZfile portal. Commissioner Muzzafar Ahmed Mirza signed the MoUs on behalf of SECP.

The latest integration builds on earlier agreements with organizations including PSEB, STZA, PEC, PSW, BOI, PTA, KP-BOIT, KPRA and BRA, enabling regulators to digitally access company information directly from SECP.

According to SECP, the initiative is designed to streamline compliance by removing redundant manual submissions, cutting paperwork and accelerating access to services. It is part of the regulator’s broader vision of “From Paper to Platform 100% Online.”

The reform is aligned with the government’s objective of improving ease of doing business and fostering a more digital, investor-friendly economy.
