SCRA balance rises to over Rs28bn

October 01, 2026 (MLN): The Special Convertible Rupee Account (SCRA) balance increased by Rs507.44 million during the week ended September 25, 2026, closing at Rs27.89 billion.

According to data published by the State Bank of Pakistan (SBP), the week recorded net securities purchases of Rs6.31bn.

During the week, the SCRA received total inflows of Rs28.83bn through remittances, securities sales and dividends.

Of the total inflows, inward remittances stood at Rs16.38bn, securities sales at Rs12.07bn, while dividends amounted to Rs383.38m.

Total outflows from the SCRA through outward remittances, securities purchases and taxes amounted to Rs28.32bn.

Outward remittances stood at Rs9.94bn, securities purchases at Rs18.38bn, while taxes paid amounted to Rs4.82m.

The market value of investments in equities declined by Rs12.26bn during the week to Rs553.09bn.

Meanwhile, investments in T-Bills increased by Rs2.11bn to Rs94.65bn, while investments in Pakistan Investment Bonds (PIBs) rose by Rs7.12bn to Rs67.57bn.
