SBP reserves rise $25m to $17bn

Similarly, the country's total reserves increased by $7.8m, or 0.03% WoW, to $22.51bn.

The reserves held by commercial banks fell by $17.1m, or 0.31% WoW, to $5.42bn.

Meanwhile, the current calendar year has seen an increase of $1.02bn, or 6.28%.

The SBP also released monthly data showing that its reserves decreased by $1.33bn to $17.0431bn in July 2026 from $18.3762bn a month earlier.

Compared with $14.3241bn in July 2025, the SBP's reserves increased by $2.72bn, or 18.98%.

Net foreign reserves held by commercial banks stood at $4.85bn, compared with $4.82bn a month earlier, showing an increase of $23.20m. Compared with $4.6520bn a year ago, commercial banks' reserves increased by $193.60m.

Total liquid foreign reserves held by the country at the end of July 2026 stood at $21.8887bn, compared with $23.1986bn in the previous month, showing a net decrease of $1.31bn.

Compared with the corresponding month last year, Pakistan's total liquid foreign reserves increased by $2.91bn, or 15.35%.
