SBP reserves up $16m in a week

January 15, 2026 (MLN): The foreign exchange reserves held by the State Bank of Pakistan (SBP) increased by $16.1 million WoW to $16.07 billion during the week ended on January 09, 2026, data released by State Bank of Pakistan showed on Thursday.

Similarly, the country's total reserves increased by $56m or 0.26% WoW to $21.25bn.

The reserves held by commercial banks rose by $39.9m or 0.78% WoW to $5.18bn.

In the current fiscal year, SBP-held reserves have increased by $7.01bn or 77.3%.

Meanwhile, the current calendar year has seen an increase of $156.7m or 0.98%.
