SBP reserves increases by $141m in a week

January 08, 2026 (MLN): The foreign exchange reserves held by the State Bank of Pakistan (SBP) increased by $140.6 million or 0.88% WoW to $16.06 billion during the week ended on January 02, 2026, data released by State Bank of Pakistan showed on Thursday.

Similarly, the country's total reserves increased by $180.2m or 0.86% WoW to $21.19bn.

The reserves held by commercial banks rose by $39.6m or 0.78% WoW to $5.14bn.

In the current fiscal year, SBP-held reserves have increased by $6.99bn or 77.13%.

Meanwhile, the current calendar year has seen an increase of $140.6m or 0.88%.
