SBP appoints Primary Dealers, Special Purpose Dealers for FY27

July 23, 2026 (MLN): The State Bank of Pakistan (SBP) has
appointed 10 banks as Primary Dealers (PDs) and two institutions as Special
Purpose Primary Dealers (SPDs) for fiscal year 2026-27, following an evaluation
of applications received from eligible institutions.
The selection was communicated through
DMMD Circular No. 03, issued on July 23, 2026.
The circular refers to the rules
governing the Primary Dealer system issued vide DMMD Circular No. 07 dated
April 12, 2021, under which applications for FY2026-27 were invited vide DMMD
Circular Letter No. 06 dated May 7, 2026.

Circular also disclosed the top three
performing PDs during FY2025-26: United Bank Limited ranked first, followed by
National Bank of Pakistan and Bank Alfalah Limited.
The performance ranking of all other
PDs/SPDs during FY2025-26 will be communicated individually through separate
letters, the SBP said.
