SBL elevates Rashid Jahangir from acting to permanent CEO

February 18, 2026 (MLN): Samba Bank Limited's (PSX:SBL) Board of Directors has approved the appointment of Mr. Rashid Jahangir, who is currently serving as Acting President and CEO, as full-time President and Chief Executive Officer of the bank.

The decision was taken during the bank's 133rd Board of Directors meeting held on February 17, 2026.

The appointment is subject to approval from the State Bank of Pakistan and compliance with all applicable laws, rules, and regulations, according to the company's statement issued today.

Mr. Rashid Jahangir has been leading the bank in an acting capacity and will now transition to a permanent role upon receiving regulatory clearance from the central bank.

The appointment comes as SBL delivered a modest improvement in its financial performance for the year ended December 31, 2025, as it posted a net profit of Rs727.2m up 4% YoY with earnings per share rising to Rs0.72 from Rs0.69.
