Qatar commits to increasing PSX investments

November 05, 2025 (MLN): Qatar plans to enhance its investments in the Pakistan Stock Exchange (PSX), reaffirmed Qatar’s Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign Affairs, Sheikh Mohammed bin Abdulrahman bin Jassim Al Thani, during a meeting with President of Pakistan Asif Ali Zardari.

Responding to President Zardari’s invitation for greater Qatari participation in Pakistan’s economy, the Qatari Prime Minister stated that Qatar is already investing in the PSX and intends to further increase the volume of its investments.

The meeting, held at the hotel where President Zardari is staying, focused on expanding bilateral relations, promoting trade, and enhancing investment opportunities between Pakistan and Qatar.

President Zardari lauded the Qatari leadership for its measures to safeguard national security amid Israeli aggression and praised Qatar’s diplomatic efforts in promoting peace and stability in the region.

He also congratulated Qatar for the successful hosting of the FIFA World Cup 2022 and the exemplary arrangements made during the global event.

The Qatari Prime Minister, in turn, commended the courage and resilience of the Pakistani nation and Armed Forces during the recent Pakistan-India conflict.

He expressed appreciation for Pakistan’s steadfastness and highlighted the hope that ongoing initiatives in Afghanistan would lead to lasting peace and regional stability.

The meeting was also attended by First Lady Bibi Aseefa Bhutto Zardari, Chairman Pakistan Peoples Party Bilawal Bhutto Zardari, and Pakistan’s Ambassador to Qatar.
