President urges boost in Pakistan’s defence amid security challenges

June 19, 2025 (MLN): Amid prevailing and future security challenges, President Asif Ali Zardari emphasized the need to further enhance Pakistan’s defence capabilities.

During a visit to Pakistan Ordnance Factories (POF) in Wah, he reaffirmed that strengthening national defence remains a top priority for the country.

On the occasion, Chairman POF Wah, Lieutenant General Syed Tahir Hameed Shah, briefed the President on various production units and underscored the organization’s key role in meeting Pakistan’s defence needs.

He also outlined POF’s capabilities, recent technological advancements, and its contributions toward achieving self-reliance in defence manufacturing, as per the press release issued.

President Zardari toured several manufacturing facilities, where he lauded the technical expertise, commitment, and professionalism of the workforce.

He also commended POF’s significant role in bolstering Pakistan’s defence production.
