July 28, 2026 (MLN): President Asif Ali Zardari has called for accelerated implementation of agreed projects between the Government of Sindh and Chinese companies, instructing that all outstanding procedural and technical matters be resolved without delay.

The directive came as he chaired a review meeting on the status of various memoranda of understanding and other collaborative initiatives spanning electric vehicle infrastructure, veterinary vaccines, agriculture, healthcare and fire safety, said a press release issued.

The session, held at CM House, brought together delegations from Anhui Nengtong New Energy Technology Co., Ltd. and Luoyang Modern Biology Group, with facilitation provided by the China-Pakistan-Africa Economic and Trade Cooperation Promotion Association.

The President reaffirmed that the government is extending full support to Chinese businesses and investors, describing the All-Weather Strategic Cooperative Partnership with Beijing as central to Islamabad's economic outlook.

He linked continued engagement to the broader China-Pakistan Economic Corridor framework, noting that work under CPEC 2.0 is already underway, and pointed to his frequent visits to China as evidence of Pakistan's resolve to widen bilateral economic ties.

On the EV front, he was briefed on plans to manufacture and supply charging stations in Sindh, alongside proposals for solar-storage-charging setups, energy storage systems, smart charging networks and technology transfer with local training components.

President Zardari identified Karachi and Hyderabad as high-potential markets for such infrastructure, singling out the Karachi-Hyderabad M-9 corridor as a natural launch point for intercity charging networks, and voiced optimism that the partnership would advance Pakistan's shift toward green mobility and its broader new-energy ambitions.

A separate briefing covered the Sindh government's collaboration with Luoyang Modern Biology Group on veterinary vaccines and livestock traceability.

Officials outlined a cooperation roadmap that includes the current Chinese delegation's visit, an upcoming trip by a Sindh Institute of Animal Husbandry team to China in August, and technical work centred on the Sindh-08 foot-and-mouth disease strain. Vaccine trials underway in both countries are slated to wrap up by November 2026, after which cost estimates and timelines will be finalised.

The President welcomed the progress on this front, saying the initiative would bolster veterinary disease prevention, strengthen livestock management and improve food safety standards.

He added that building a modern animal tracking and tracing system, paired with advances in disease diagnostics and vaccine development, would ultimately boost the export competitiveness of Pakistan's livestock sector.

The Chinese delegations included Chairman and Founder of Anhui Nengtong New Energy Technology Co., Ltd. Tao Xu, President of China Africa & Asia Trade & Cooperation Promotion Association Ms. Hao Yuejiao, representatives of Luoyang Modern Biology Group Yao Shumli, Wei Xuefeng and Bai Xue, as well as other members of the delegations.

Chief Minister Sindh Syed Murad Ali Shah, Senator Saleem Mandviwala, Sindh ministers Muhammad Ali Malkani, Syed Nasir Hussain Shah and Sardar Muhammad Bux Khan Mahar, Chief Secretary Sindh Syed Asif Hyder Shah, Karachi Mayor Murtaza Wahab, Special Assistant Syed Qasim Naveed Qamar, Dr. Asim Hussain and senior officials also attended.
